on 15 october 2024 the UN chief of correction sp mary Tengera, who was sent by Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS) conducted a training session at CPC in the Abyei detention center, to increase the staff’s knowledge about the correction of criminals.

the training was attended by 41 participants including seventeen (17) men and twenty-four (24) women. the training aims were to strengthen the capacity of Abyei Detention Center’s staff to ensure the humane treatment of detainees and other suspects to uphold the right of those in custody,
