In closing of the four (4) Months Correctional Training, CGP George Rwigamba assured all Correctional Officials that they will attend such training.

On 08th February, 2021, the Commissioner General of RCS, CGP George Rwigamba officially closed the four months Correctional Training at RCS Training School Rwamagana. Sixty (60) Correctional Officials including; 30 Junior Officers and 30 NCOs completed the professional training

On 08th February, 2021, the Commissioner General of RCS, CGP George Rwigamba officially closed the four months Correctional Training at RCS Training School Rwamagana. Sixty (60) Correctional Officials including; 30 Junior Officers and 30 NCOs completed the professional training.

The 30 Junior Officers focused on ‘Intermediate Professional Corrections and Management Course’ that was aimed at inducting Junior Officers with key skills for leadership integrating professional aspects in corrections and ensuring they implement the vision of RCS while attuning their daily work with the core values and ethics expected of them.

Other 30 Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) focused on ‘Fundamental Correctional Professional Studies’. The course aimed at instilling core values for correction work and standards to ensure they are adequately trained in order to understand their specific career paths for effective and professional delivery of their duties in the units and departments where they work.

In his closing remarks, CGP George Rwigamba, the Commissioner General of RCS, guaranteed all Correctional Officials that they will also participate in these professional training.

He said “I am delighted to be here today to close the four months professional training. I would like to thank you all; Junior Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers, for your courageous and commitment you presented in these training.”

CGP George Rwigamba added that “The professional training is for all Correctional Officials because its aim is to enable us to do our work in a professional way, better understand our responsibilities, and love our profession. I would also like to remind you that in order to achieve this, we will adhere to the RCS missions, and core values.”

The training started on 05th October 2020 and Junior Officers as well as NCOs benefited a lot.
