05 RCS Senior officers together with Rwandan Embassy In Zimbabwe commemorate the 31st Genocide against Tutsi In 1994

The ceremony preceded by National anthems of both countries, followed by prayer and a moment of silent. Afterward, Ambassador and Guest of Honor led lighting of candles symbolizing light of hope, where Rwandan Ambassador in Zimbabwe has honored the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, a tragic event that resulted in the loss of over one million lives of Tutsi. Ambassador given a welcome remark to Guest of honor, Diplomats, Government officials and distinguished guests after that he has also given an attribute to RPF Inkotanyi led by H.E Paul Kagame President of Republic of Rwanda who stopped Genocide.

Those who attended the ceremony, were Deputy Commissioner General C.M. Manhivi on behalf of ZPCS, the Rwandan Zimbabwe community, five senior officers from Rwanda Correctional Service who are in Zimbabwe for attending senior command course and accompanied by five senior officers from Zimbabwe prisons and Correctional Service alongside with the RCS officer all attending senior command course.

Zimbabwe’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Professor Amon MURWIRA, in his speech has honored the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, his emphasis was on bilateral cooperation and partnership in different areas through MOUs. He has said that Zimbabwe will continue to stand with Rwanda against genocidal ideology within the two countries and give thanks to the Rwandan who themselves took advance to stop that barbaric act killed over than a million people.

07 April every year from 1994 it’s a time for Rwandan for mourning the victims of Genocide against Tutsi who lost their lives through the tragic act caused by ethnics colonialists.
