Pst Dr Antoine RUTAYISIRE trained over 220 RCS staff about values and ethics at work

On 18th November 2019, Pst Dr Antoine RUTAYISIRE was invited to refresh Rwanda correctional service personnel working at its headquarters,at kicukiro district, main talk points was about the core values of a professional worker in his/her job with a theme “the Duty based ethics”.

According to Pst Dr Antoine, some time back in 1994, the evangelical team including him went and conducted gospel in various prisons to inform inmates and RCS staff about the values regarding real behavior of a human being and how Rwandan cultural norm, values and how it differs with the rest of the world.

During the open discussion, Dr Antoine urged the participants to maintain work ethical, and reminded RCS officers and men on values and ethics they should bear in their daily job, he said “a better correction officer should also have Christian values” because of heavy duties they own like transforming criminals.

He further said:” it is better to be a servant of God before being employed in this career of rehabilitating inmates; since it’s requires extra vigilance and professionalism plus values in your daily duties

He added that to be a good professional, one must avoid any character that contravenes his/her professionalism; like seeking pride, greedy of money and sexual lust. Give an example of a French famous commander Napoleon on his overambitious mission that finally led him to decline.  He requested participants to work together and build a synergy that as a good way to achieve their goals.

One of the participants, CGP George RWIGAMBA, the Commissioner General   of RCS express his sincere gratitude to Pst Dr RUTAYISIRE about his well researched mentorship he delivered to RCS personnel and he also said any achievement requires consistence.

He committed the administration will of regular on job training to all RCS staff so us to avoid carelessness in their professionalism that literally needs accurate vigilance”

Participants were over 220; including the Commissioner General of RCS, Deputy Commissioner General of RCS, all Division managers, Directors, officers and non-commissioners officers working at RCS headquarters.
