Correctional Officers in various community and community activities

As was the case before the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, on the last 6 days of the month there was a nationwide community work with a focus on various public infrastructure such as: housing the needy, repairing houses, repairing damaged roads and creating new ones, building As the epidemic intensifies, community work is being resumed on Saturday, April 23, 2022, with Prisons at various Prisons in the country participating in various community activities and community outreach in their respective districts. In Kigali City, Nyarugenge Prison wardens worked with the community of Mageragere sector in Kavumu cell, Mubura village where they created a new road that will be used by the residents of the village. Kavumu cell leader Ndamage Israel praised the prison guards who came to join the community in the community work. “I really want to thank the Nyarugenge Prison guards for their contribution to nation building, their commitment to joining us in the community work is a great sign of patriotism” Nsengiyumva Epaphorodite The Director of Social Welfare for Prisoners and Detainees at Nyarugenge Prison said that nation-building is for all people regardless of level. “Building a country is for everyone, no one or any person is responsible for building the country of his birth, which is why we have come to join you in the community work as it has been in the country and we will continue to work together,” he said. Community work is one of the things that develops the country because no one participates in it and you see it as productive from the beginning because there is no money invested but everyone does it for their own sake to continue to give Rwanda a hand and develop it based on self-esteem as Rwandans.
