Friday 27th November 2020, Rwanda Correctional Service celebrates its 10th anniversary and was pleased to be able to relatively register remarkable improvement in different fields related to its mandated mission in these 10 years of existence

As RCS is preparing to celebrate its 10th anniversary, it has decided to donate pigs and goats to the poor families that are nearby every prison countrywide. This act is in the aim of transforming rural livelihoods and addressing poverty alleviation in low income families from sectors that are near the prison

The use of technology is one of the ways in which the government continues to make efforts to expedite the services provided by the government agencies. To do so, RCS in collaboration with its partners has already come up with the technology to provide services to the inmates, especially in this period of Coronavirus pandemic.

On March 12, 2020 students from United States of America paid a visit to Mageragere TIG Camp located in Mageragere Sector, Nyarugenge District, in learning about how TIG is paving a way for reconciliation and development of Rwanda after Genocide against Tutsi in 1994.

In two-days training at Ngoma Prison from 29th to 30th July 2020, the Foundation Dignity in Detention (DIDE) which supports and fight for prisoners’ rights and well-being urged that mental health and social wellbeing of women inmates are key factors to help them reintegrate into society.
