  • Musanze Prison was built in 1935. It has the capacity to accommodate 800 prisoners.
  • After the 1994 Genocide against Tutsis, other buildings that were added to the prison allowed it to house 2262 men and women.
  • The current number of inmates imprisoned in Musanze Prison equals 3930.
