Rubavu prison accommodates inmates many of whom are youth below the age of 40 accused guilty of theft, use of drugs and rape. More than 2000 prisoners were convicted of genocide crime. Following the existing partnership between Zambia Correctional Service( ZCS) and Rwanda Correctional Service(RCS)
To day the 9th May 2022, The Commissioner General , Rwanda Correction Service, CGP Juvenal MARIZAMUNDA and his delegation started a five – day working visit to Zambia.

Rwanda will continue to support the role of corrections and women correction officers in peacekeeping missions- Minister Oda Gasinzigwa
This was expressed by the Minister of Gender and Family Promotion, Mrs. Oda Gasinzigwa during the ceremony of closing the two days training workshop focused on promoting the role and participation of women correctional officers in peacekeeping missions.
RCS Partneship on halfway social Reintegration project
Today at RCS headquarters, The Commissioner General CGP Juvenal MARIZAMUNDA received partners from stirling Foundation, Latter Day Saint Charities and DiDe foundation to discuss on the implementation of the first ever project of halfway social reintegration program that is aimed at preparing inmates in their progressive rehabilitation and reintegration into the community.
