{"id":5190,"date":"2019-05-04T12:05:00","date_gmt":"2019-05-04T12:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.rcs.gov.rw\/?p=5190"},"modified":"2022-04-27T20:10:57","modified_gmt":"2022-04-27T20:10:57","slug":"over-360-abortion-convicts-receive-presidential-pardon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rcs.gov.rw\/?p=5190&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Over 360 abortion convicts receive presidential pardon"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>President Paul&nbsp;Kagame has pardoned 367 girls and women convicted for the offence of abortion,&nbsp;complicity in abortion and infanticide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The President\u2019s clemency is part of the resolutions of Wednesday\u2019s extraordinary cabinet meeting that was chaired by Kagame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPursuant to the powers conferred upon him by the laws\u2026the President of the Republic informed the cabinet meeting that he has exercised his prerogative of mercy and pardoned 367 persons convicted for the offences of abortion, complicity in abortion and infanticide,\u201d a post cabinet meeting statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This Friday, all women inmates pardoned by his excellence Paul&nbsp; Kagame, the president of Republic of Rwanda &nbsp;were released.
